5 Tips on How to Keep your Makeup Summertime Fine
Summer 2018 is just around the corner, and of course, we are ready, or not. When the sun is out, we are out, and we cannot afford to have our makeup looking like you came through drippin, literally. One thing I hate to see is a queen out and about with her makeup running down her face. I remember when I made that dreadful mistake a few years ago when I went to Cedar Point (an amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio) with a full face of makeup and it was over 90 degrees outside.
What in the hell was I thinking?
I know, I know - crazy, right!? There was a point in time of my life where I could not leave the house without a full face of makeup, no matter what the climate was outside. Fast forward to now, I enjoy not having my face beat to the gawds. I also enjoy allowing my skin to breathe.
When it comes to making sure your face is still flawless during the summer months, here are some tips to keep your makeup summertime fine.
One: Keep translucent powder and blotting paper handy
Most of us have an oily t-zone, especially during the summer months. If you're wearing a full face of makeup and your skin begins to oil, it is ideal to use blotting paper to keep your oil under control on the go. Also, keep a little bit of translucent powder in your makeup bag and a small fluffy brush. Apply it to the oily areas on your face and dust off the access.
Two: Make sure your skin care addresses your skin issues
Healthy skin is where it begins. It is critical to have healthy skin, especially if you are seeking a flawless look with less product on your face. You can tackle your skin issues by using the proper products that will address them. Develop a good skin care regimen and practice it daily. Don't forget to remove your makeup from your face every single night and follow up with a cleanser and night moisturizer. Thank me later.
Three: Drink plenty of water
Just as much as we deal with oily skin, there are also some who suffers from dry skin. It is essential to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. I used to hate drinking water, but now I enjoy it (infused with lemons) knowing that my skin loves it.
Four: Focus more on using a light application of concealer and tinted moisturizer
You do not have to walk around with a face of full coverage foundation, especially when it is hot outside. The last thing you want is for your foundation to run down your face, trying to stay cute. Try and focus on using a concealer to correct specific areas on your face and follow up with a sheer coverage foundation. You can also use a tinted moisturizer and go on about your day.
Five: Keep it light until the night
To follow up from number four, try and keep your makeup light during the day, and go a little heavier for a night out on the town.

Be great and amazing,
I don’t know about you, but since the pandemic began, I changed how I wear my makeup while wearing my mask. I am sure a lot of us can relate. We have watered down our makeup looks. Before I begin to share how I wear my makeup, let me remind you to throw away your masks! I strongly recommend wearing a disposable mask and throwing it away at the end of the day.
