Mask-Friendly Makeup

Hey, y’all! Welcome back to my blog!

I don’t know about you, but since the pandemic began, I changed how I wear my makeup while wearing my mask. I am sure a lot of us can relate. We have watered down our makeup looks. Before I begin to share how I wear my makeup, let me remind you to throw away your masks! I strongly recommend wearing a disposable mask and throwing it away at the end of the day.

I have been staying home for most of the pandemic, but there are times where I am going stir crazy and need to get out of the house. Going out to dinner usually resolves that issue, lol! When I meet friends for dinner, I make sure my makeup is intact, but I don’t go as hard with my application as I used to. I keep it very simple.

Let’s get started:

The only makeup I wear is foundation, concealer, tons of setting powder, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, eyelashes, blush, matte lipstick. That’s it!

While applying my foundation, I only use a small amount to my face. I blend it out and apply setting powder, paying extra attention to the mask areas on my face. Next, I fill in my eyebrows with a pencil and clean underneath with concealer. Keep in mind that the shade of my concealer is matched to my skin tone. I then apply concealer to my eyelids and blend it out with a brush. I then add eyeliner and apply false eyelashes to allow for my eyes to pop. Next, I apply blush and matte lipstick to my lips, set my face with setting spray, and done!

One of my biggest struggles while wearing makeup was to give up lip gloss. Gloss is beautiful but messy, especially while wearing a mask. Until we can resume our lives outside without a mask, no more lipgloss for me!

I hope this blog post helps with allowing you to still wear makeup with your mask. Don’t forget to always wash your makeup off your face before bed. Lastly, change your masks like you change your underwear!

Always be amazing,

Jennifer J.
