Oh, what a time! We are practicing social distancing and forced to self-quarantine and what a time to work on your businesses. Since the establishment of our shelter in place order, I made a promise to myself to get back to blogging.
As a beauty connoisseur, it was only right for me to try out eyelash extensions. After deliberating with myself and doing countless research on the right person to apply them, I was not convinced. I am a very particular person, and I wanted my eyelashes to look a certain way. Not to mention, invest my money into a beauty regimen that looks good. Let’s keep it real for a moment - I have seen some people where their eyelash extensions look A HOT MESS, and I REFUSE to look unrecognizable with crazy eyelashes. I am not going to throw shade on anyone’s craft, but I will say, a lot of these eyelash styles are just simply not for me.
Last September, a friend of mine recently had her eyelash extensions done, and I fell in love with them. They were everything I was looking for! She gave me the information of the person who applied her extensions, and I decided to give them a try.
I was excited on the day of my appointment. I kept thinking how convenient this will be, and since I am a woman on the go, this will help with my overall looks and speed up my glam process. I enjoyed my appointment with the lady who applied my extensions. She was nice, professional and made my experience an enjoyable one. I loved my eyelashes!
I did not take many pictures of my eyelash extensions. However, they were beautiful and I loved them.
So what went wrong? Nothing! I opted for the hybrid eyelash extensions and they were beautiful! I loved the fact that I did not have to wear any mascara. I also loved the fact that I did not have to wear any makeup on a daily basis. I just filled in my eyebrows and add lip gloss and my look was flawless! I was advised not to add any additional false eyelashes and eyeliner where the extensions were applied. After applying makeup on a few occasions, I knew I was unable to apply eyeliner and additional eyelashes; it made my looks limited. I am a makeup artist, and I love to create different looks, including using different eyelashes and applying the infamous winged eyeliner. I was unable to do that. Let’s be clear - some women apply additional lashes and eyeliner, but I was not going to risk my natural eyelashes by any means. Secondly, as beautiful as the eyelash extensions are, it is very costly. As I continue to invest money into my businesses and dealing with life, I did not want to add the extra expense to my budget.
If you are interested in getting eyelash extensions, I recommend it. They are just not for me. Make sure you do your research when it comes to finding the person applying them and that you are willing to commit to having them and include them in your budget.
Be great and amazing,
I don’t know about you, but since the pandemic began, I changed how I wear my makeup while wearing my mask. I am sure a lot of us can relate. We have watered down our makeup looks. Before I begin to share how I wear my makeup, let me remind you to throw away your masks! I strongly recommend wearing a disposable mask and throwing it away at the end of the day.
