7 Tips for a Flawless Face

Hey Girl, Hey!

Happy Tuesday! For this edition of #TipTuesday, I wanted to share with you 7 tips to getting a flawless face beat. No need for a fancy introduction, let’s get right to it.

Tip One

Make sure your face is cleansed, toned and moisturized. A flawless face starts with a cleansed face. You should wash your face with a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer daily, in fact, twice a day. Good skin care is critical and to make sure you invest in some good products. I recently started using some facial products LUSH Cosmetics products, and I am upset at myself for sleeping on their products (we’ll save that for a future blog post).

Tip Two

Consider face and eye primers to be your best friends. The key to a flawless face is using primers before applying your makeup.

Tip Three

When filling in your eyebrows, proper blending with concealer is a must. If you do not know by now, concealer works wonders. While blending the concealer underneath your eyebrows, it is ideal to use as close to your skin tone as possible. If you choose to go a little lighter, use one shade lighter than your normal skin tone. Once you apply the concealer, blend downwards and finish with an applicator sponge (i.e., beauty blender). Some people add concealer to the top of their eyebrow, and that is fine. Typically, I do not. I have seen so many eyebrows that look a HOT MESS because they are using a concealer that is too light for their skin tone and they do not blend properly. Ladies, IT IS NOT CUTE! Invest in a well-lit vanity mirror that will enable you to apply products correctly and blend properly.

Tip Four

Dark colored eyeshadow should NOT be applied anywhere near your brow bone. Darker colors should be applied around the outer corner of your eye, adjacent to the transition colors at the crease of your eye.

Tip Five

Make sure your brushes and applicators are clean. Imagine all of the bacteria and product build up that forms on dirty tools which causes breakouts. Clean those brushes please and thank you. Ideally on a weekly basis.

Tip Six

Finishing spray is your other best friend. Once you apply all of your makeup, in order to keep it in place, you start with a primer. Then you apply concealer and foundation, use a translucent powder to lock it in place, add a little more pressed powder foundation to bring the color back to your face then complete your look with the finishing spray. Your makeup will not move.

Tip Seven

Wash your makeup off your face every single night! There is nothing more disgusting then wearing your makeup from the other night. Take it off. Your skin will thank you.
