Summer Sixteen Top 5 Countdown

Top 5, Top 5, Top 5! (In my Drake voice)

Hey, friends! I hope you all have been enjoying your summer. Now that August is coming to a close, fall is on the horizon. I cannot believe how fast this summer went. As much as I love the summer, I must admit that I love the fall a tad bit more. I am all for the fashion, the dark hues, the leaves on the trees transitioning to those beautiful colors and the infamous pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, lol! Okay, let's rewind - we are still in the midst of the summer. I wanted to countdown my top five favorite makeup products all during the #SummerSixteen. Some products have been around for a while, and some were released during the summer. Let's get started!

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

This palette has been in my makeup rotation all summer. The color variation is incredible, highly pigmented and the palette smells great (like chocolate). One of my looks I created earlier this season (Dripping in Gold) was created from this palette.

Benefit ka-BROW

Earlier this summer, Benefit launched their new line of products catered to eyebrows. One of their newest products is the ka-BROW eyebrow cream gel. First, let's briefly talk about the packaging which is amazeballs. There is a built in angled brush that pulls off which can be used for application. The lid twists off where you use the gel to add definition to your eyebrows allowing them to be "on fleek". I must admit, I have been a faithful user of the Dipbrow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills, but ka-BROW has stolen my heart.
Retailed at $24. Available here.

Limited-Edition Tarteist x @MakeupShayla Contour Palette

Oh, em gee! If you know me, then you know that I love MakeupShayla. When I found out that she collaborated with Tarte Cosmetics to create a contour palette catered towards women of color, I was more than thrilled. I was never one to contour and highlight my face on a regular basis, but ever since I purchased this palette, I have been more frequently. The colors are buildable, the palette smells great (like chocolate), and it is super easy to use.
Retailed at $45. Available here

The Lip Bar Lipsticks

Okay, where have I been and why have I been missing out? I recently purchased two of their lipsticks from an event. I must say, I am pleasantly surprised with my purchase. As a hoarder of lipsticks, you will find some that are super drying on your lips. The Lip Bar lippies are the complete opposite. The colors are long lasting, it stays in place, leaves your lips moisturized throughout the day and all of their lip products are vegan! Everybody knows that I am an advocate for all natural products, so I was impressed. If you are looking for a great lipstick with plenty of pigmentation and keeps your lips feeling great during application, then I HIGHLY recommend you to check out their line of lipsticks. The Lip Bar is based out of Detroit, Michigan, and the owners have been featured on ABC's Shark Tank! I cannot wait until I purchase more of their products. Colors pictured are Milf and Gin-ger & Tonic.
Retailed at various pricing. Available here

Inglot Eyeliner Gel #77

This eyeliner gel is nonetheless of amazing! My everyday look consists of a winged eyeliner, and the gels I have been using before Inglot has been quite mediocre. I heard so many great things about their gel liner, so I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, I use this gel liner every single day, and it lasts all day long. The color is so dark, and I must admit, it is hard to remove, but that shows that it will not fade or move out of place. This is the perfect gel for achieving that super fleeky wing.
Retailed at $15. Available here

So...there you have it. My top five favorite makeup products I used all during summer sixteen. I am having a great summer and I hope you are too. Until then, keep on shining and be you.

Xoxo,
